Frozen Meat Cabbage Rolls (Holubtsi)

Traditional, hearty cabbage rolls stuffed with a savory filling of semi-fat pork, rice, fried onions, and carrots. Perfect for slow simmering in a rich sauce.

Ingredients and Composition

• Boiled white cabbage (38%)
• Boiled rice groats (25%)
• Semi-fat deveined pork (19%)
• Fried onions (8%)
• Fried carrots (8%)
• Refined sunflower oil
• Salt
• Ground black pepper

Cooking Instructions (Simmering Method)

1. Fry a finely chopped onion for 2–3 minutes in a pan with vegetable oil or butter.
2. Add 2 finely diced carrots and fry for a further 5–7 minutes.
3. Mix together 4 tbsps sour cream with 1 tbsp tomato puree and add the cabbage rolls to the pan.
4. Add water to cover the rolls, place lid on the pan and leave to simmer over a low heat for 40 minutes from defrosted or for 2 hours from frozen.

• Shelf Life: The date of shelf life not to exceed the 90 days from the date of manufacturing.
• Storage Temperature: Store at a temperature not exceeding 0 F.
• Transportation Tip: In the summer, carrying in thermal packs is recommended.
